This iconic LC4 is a chaise lounge with variable inclinations with cradle in polished chromed steel and pedestal in black painted steel.
Designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand in 1928 and made famous since 1965.
The form of relaxation, born from the desire of the three designers to put man at the centre of attention, thanks to the correspondence between form and function of rest, in perfect balance between geometric purity and corporeality. The stability of the cradle – for any tilt angle – is ensured by friction with rubber tubes that line the pedestal crosspieces.
The hide is in excellent condition showing only slight wear at foot rest. By repute, this vintage chair was purchased originally in the mid-1980’s from Heal’s London. There are no markers marks on this piece though the quality of materials are high and the welding joins all neat, tidy and ground back looking as they should for this model.
